About Fishing Pharmacist Guide Service

After more than 35 years as a pharmacist, I’ve stepped away from the pharmacy world and am now fully dedicated to guiding and sharing my passion for fishing. While the name “Fishing Pharmacist” reflects where I came from, guiding is now my profession—and the place where my customer‑care mindset and lifelong love of the outdoors come together. My goal on every trip is to provide a complete, enjoyable, and stress‑free experience where you feel supported, welcomed, and taken care of on the water.

I picked up a fly rod more than 25 years ago. After snapping off a couple of flies on my first backcasts in Yellowstone, I kept at it until the timing and rhythm finally clicked. A few years later, during the fall salmon run on the Milwaukee River, I battled a lake trout that completely changed the trajectory of my fishing life—I was hooked from that moment on. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a passion, then a community, and now my full‑time profession.

Today, I’m an active board member and past president of the Southeast Wisconsin Chapter of Trout Unlimited. I regularly teach fly tying and casting, and I give presentations on salmon and steelhead fishing throughout the region. Guiding became a natural continuation of that work—another way to share the joy, challenge, and magic of fishing with others.

As much as I still love catching fish myself, nothing compares to watching someone land their first steelhead on a fly. That moment—the surprise, the excitement, the celebration—stays with both of us for a lifetime.

If you’re new to fly fishing, we can start with casting lessons before we ever step into the water so you can focus on the fishing—and, with some cooperation from the fish, the catching.
